Barefoot College, the world’s only college for the rural poor, has received international recognition for its revolutionary educational programs that support traditional knowledge and create sustainable solutions for rural communities. Now, the College can add Clinton Global Initiative honors to its growing list of achievements.
We traveled to New York this fall to attend the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. We cheered on Barefoot College’s founder Bunker Roy as he received the 2013 Global Citizen Award for Leadership in Civil Society. Bunker also spoke at a plenary session entitled “Creating Business at the Base of the Pyramid.” Take a look at some of the highlights on Vimeo:
